Original Breeder: Wild Garden Seeds. See quoted text from them. “Part of the retro romaine scene you won’t want to miss…convections of red and yellow in high contrast hearts of romaine. Includes ‘Crisp Mint’ in the parentage, which comes through in the crunch. Best at full maturity, remains non-bitter even at onset of bolting. Probably a good ‘celtuce’ ”. For lettuce, leaf varieties are more cold tolerant.
Companion plants: Alliums, Radish, Marigold, Broccoli, Beans, Beet, Carrot, Nasturtium, Dill, Corn, Cucurbits, Cilantro, Strawberries. 
Far from: Cabbage, Brussel Sprouts, Celery, Parsley.
Planting tip: Sow seed directly outside as soon as the soil can be worked. One can also start plant indoors 3-4 weeks ahead of planting time. Most lettuce won’t germinate well above 25°C except a few heat-tolerant varieties.
Harvesting tip: Harvest at any stage but flavor is best in fall after a few cold nights.
Storage tip: Can be stored in sand in a root cellar at about 1-2°C.

En voici leur description: “Une partie de la scène rétro de la romaine que vous ne voudrez pas manquer… des convections de rouge et de jaune dans des cœurs de romaine très contrastés. Comprend ‘Crisp Mint’ dans sa parenté, qui se manifeste dans son aspect croquant. Meilleure à pleine maturité, reste non amère même au début de la montaison. Probablement un bon ‘celtuce’ “.
Plantes compagnes: Alliums, Radis, Souci, Brocoli, Haricots, Betterave, Carotte, Capucine, Aneth, Maïs, cucurbitacées, Coriandre, Fraises.
Loin de: Chou, Choux de Bruxelles, Céleri, Persil.
Ensemencement: Semer directement à l’extérieur dès que le sol peut être travaillé. On peut aussi commencer à planter à l’intérieur 3 à 4 sem. avant la date de plantation. La plupart des laitues ne germent pas bien au-dessus de 25°C, à l’exception de quelques variétés tolérantes à la chaleur.
Récolte: Récolte à n’importe quel stade, mais la saveur est meilleure en automne après quelques nuits froides.
Entreposage: Peut être conservée dans du sable dans une cave à racines à environ 1-2°C.
