Bred by Oklahoma native Carl Barnes. He selected the stunning Glass Gem Organic corn seeds from several traditional heirlooms known for their beauty. Sturdy plant that are 6-8′ tall, with several 7-8″ long ears. Used for popcorn or ground into flour. Consider starting this one indoors, as it has a long maturation. No two cobs are identical.
Planting tip: Direct sow as soon as the soil has warmed up to 19°C.
Harvesting tip: Harvest when ear silks have dried out and kernels are full and filled up and appropriate colour has appeared.
Storage tip: Cool up to 0°C with an hour of harvest and store in high humidity. Consume within days otherwise sugar content decreases in time.
