This beet has striking crimson and white interior zoning and sweet flavor. Guardsmark strain is selected for more uniform roots than the standard Chioggia beet strain. High resistance to bolting.
Companion plants: Lettuce, Alliums, Bush Beans, Brassicas (except mustard), Radish, Marigold, Catnip. 
Far from: Pole Beans, Mustard Family.
Planting tip: Soaking in warm water for up to 12H is recommended for improved germination. Direct seed after all danger of frost has passed. For fall planting seed 6-8 weeks before fall frost.
Harvesting tip: Harvest as needed. Harvest any size
Storage tip: Store at 0°C and 95% humidity. Cut tops 1” above the base of the stem. Put in plastic bags to retain moisture.

Cette betterave à saveur douce a des stries rouges et blanches frappantes à l’intérieur. La variété Guardsmark est cultivée pour ses racines plus uniformes que la souche standard de la betterave Chioggia. Résistance élevée à la montaison.
Plantes compagnes: Laitue, Alliums, Haricot Buissonnier, Brassicacées (sauf Moutarde), Radis, Tagète, Cataire.
Loin de: Haricots à rames, Famille des Moutardes.
Ensemencement: Le trempage dans l’eau chaude pendant 12H maximum est recommandé pour améliorer la germination. Semis direct après que tout danger de gel soit passé. Pour les plantations d’automne, semer 6 à 8 sem. avant les gels d’automne
Récolte: Récolter au besoin. Récolter toute taille
Entreposage: Conservez à 0°C et 95% d’humidité. Couper les sommets 1″ au-dessus de la base de la tige. Mettre dans des sacs en plastique pour Conservez l’humidité.
