A true French cantaloupe that originated in the Poitou-Charentes region circa 1920. Considered by many to be the most divine and flavorful melon in the world. Smooth round melons mature to a creamy gray with faint ribs. Sweet, juicy, orange flesh with a heavenly fragrance. Typically the size of a grapefruit and weighing 2 pounds—perfect for two people.
Companion plants: Marigold, Lettuce, Radish, Catnip, Alliums, Corn, Dill, Sunflower, Peas, Oregano, Nasturtium.
Far from: Cucumber, Potato.
Planting tip: Soak in warm water up to 24H & scarify for improved germination. Direct seed 1-2 weeks after last frost. Can also start indoors 4 weeks before the planting date.
Harvesting tip: Harvest when yellow. For peak flavor, harvest fruits when slightly under-ripe, before the rind turns yellow and the fruit softens.
Storage tip: Ripe melon lasts 4 weeks in cold storage.

Un vrai cantaloup français originaire de la région Poitou-Charentes vers 1920. Considéré par beaucoup comme le melon le plus divin et le plus savoureux du monde. Les melons ronds et lisses deviennent gris crème avec de légères côtes. Sa chair orange, sucrée et juteuse, dégage un parfum divin. Typiquement de la taille d’un pamplemousse et pesant 2 livres – parfait pour deux personnes.
Plantes compagnes: Tagète, laitue, radis, cataire, alliums, maïs, aneth, tournesol, pois, origan, capucine.
Loin de: Concombre, Patate.
Ensemencement: Tremper en eau chaude jusqu’à 24H et scarifier pour mieux germer. Semer directement 1 à 2 sem. après le dernier gel. On peut aussi démarrer à l’intérieur 4 sem. avant la date de plantation.
Récolte: Récolter quand il est jaune
Entreposage: Le melon mûr se conserve 4 semaines au froid.
