Indeterminate type. An outstanding polish variety that is still standing strong since its inception in North-America since 1837. Famous for an exceptionally clean flavor that tastes like pineapple or mango. 1-2 mm in diameter and encased in the papery thin husk that browns when fruit ripens. A highly productive plant that is 80-90 cm tall. Extensively used for pies, preserves, ice-cream and fresh fruit salads. Produces up to frost and a little beyond.
Companion plants: Basil, Parsley, Carrot, Onion, Hot Pepper. 
Far from: Corn, Potato, Fennel, Dill.
Planting tip: Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before planting date. Reduce water and nitrogen intake when hardening off. Staking required for indeterminate type.
Harvesting tip: When papery thin husk turns brown then fruit is ripe.

Type indéterminé. Une variété polonaise exceptionnelle qui reste populaire depuis son arrivée en Amérique du Nord en 1837. Célèbre pour sa saveur distinguée, semblable au goût de l’ananas ou de la mangue. Les fruits ont un diamètre de 1 à 2 mm et sont entourés d’une fine enveloppe de papier qui brunit lorsque le fruit mûrit. Une plante très productive qui atteint 80-90 cm de haut. Idéale pour les tartes, les conserves, les glaces et les salades de fruits frais. Produit jusqu’au premier gel et un peu au-delà.
Plantes compagnes: Basilic, persil, carotte, oignon, piment fort.
Loin de: Maïs, patate, fenouil, aneth.
Ensemencement: Semer les graines à l’intérieur 6-8 sem. avant la date de plantation. Réduire l’apport en eau et en azote lors du durcissement. Un tuteurage est nécessaire pour le type indéterminé.
Récolte: Lorsque l’enveloppe papillaire devient brune, le fruit est mûr.
